About the importance of titles..

A lot of people say that a good photo is all about great composition, lighting, perfect exposure and all the technical stuff.. In my opinion, all these are very important and would represent 2/3rds of an excellent photo.. The other 1/3rd??? The Title! I think the title plays an extremely important part. It is usually what conveys the emotion, the story, the meaning when they are not really explicit in a photo. They guide the viewer and help him visualize what you are trying to show. I too of… Continue

Hello Nahbedian,

I agree with your reflection on the ('relative') importance of a title. It is true, a few words can add some extra depth to the picture.
But at the same, time i believe it guides the viewer into a certain direction.
So at the same time 'commenting' is supporting and limiting the perspective of the viewer.
With respect to your collectionn I have to agree that your sense of subtle humor shows. it gives the impression that the viewer gains a short and little insight in your personality.
that's what I like about your work it's a bit layered
have a nice day

Hello. Yes I have been very busy. Have a new big contract job I just finished with the owners of the Vancouver Canucks NHL team and I am also in the middle of another larger job.

Trying to get at all tidying up I need to do in the contests group. I haven't been out shooting at all except for one day in June. I still need to post a few photos from that outing.

I may be out shooting on Saturday at a Bicycle Race "Tour of Delta".
