Please help me, wonderful friends...

I finally bought it! my canon 40D! i love it so much, I can't describe. However, it is all very new to me... and I was wondering... what do i set on the camera to get the most clear and focused photo possible. See, I just can't even stand using photos that have blurs in them where they aren't wanted. I used to have no choice, because of the inadequate equipment that I used. but now that my equipment is fully capable, I am being very picky. and I would just like to know, what you set your cameras… Continue

Beginner charges??

Hi everyone! I have been trying to research different places wondering on the pricing for beginner photographers. Then I just stopped because you all seem to be so much more helpful than the internet! It was really nice of you guys to take the time to comment back on my last blog... so here's another! I recently did a portrait shooting for a friend's younger brother who wanted senior pictures taken. Being, one of my best friends... obviously I wouldn't have charged her. But I now have other peo… Continue

Advice please!

Hi there, I am just beginning to study photography, and I have been saving money up for my first SLR digital camera. I was just wondering if anyone had an suggestions or opinions on a camera that you prefer. I have been do a lot of research on the Nikon D40, D80 and the Can Rebel XTi. But of course I would love suggesstions from any camera other than that as well. Thank you!

Awww <3 I don't know how haha, I use the self timer so i stretch as far as I can infront of the camera and let it auto focus, but sometimes the poor camera gets confused, so I have to manually focus it then.
Thank you very much

Jameson,
As a matter of fact, all of my lenses are compatible with the 40D and all of Canon's DSLR cameras. The BEST lens for portraiture would be the Canon 70-200 mm f2.8L IS USM, but that is a very expensive lens (about $1700). The lens that I would recommend is the Canon EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM (about $230) because it is the most versatile and has excellent glass. Personally however, I prefer the prime lenses and my favorite is the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro (about $470) and is the number 1 rated lens under $600.

Will your diana+ take the holga flash? I ordered one thinking I could add it to the Holga CFN for extra flash, but there is no hotshoe. It was so cheap it's not worth returning - let me know if it will work on the Diana and I can send it to you (it's the $11 one at b&h)

I did not know you could get digital prints in square shape unless you printed them yourself - tell me more. I am waiting to get my first roll back - it takes 10 days!! I need to scout around more for a place that does them on-site in my area. The digital pictures I took turned out OK but I am so eager to get the 120 shots back from the anniversary shoot. Yes, I got the Holga with the color flash. Have you posted any pictures with the 40D yet?
