Photography is one of the easiest and most accessible outlets for my creativity. A graphic designer by career, I've always dabbled in photography - but with the purchase of my first digital camera a few years ago - it's come to the forefront of my creative trickbag.
My favorite subject in general is this amazing, awe-inspiring, beautifully hideous, exquisitely gritty and varied place of my birth - New York City.
I have naught to do but step outside with my cam..., and this city does the rest.
Since becoming more serious about my digital photography, i have been featured in two juried art shows, as well as picked to be in the 2007 Yearly Best of New York Photography Issue of local "L" Magazine.
My next focus is to do more portraiture....
My Equipment
Currently only have a point n shoot, 4Mp Konica Minolta - but its gotten me this far for past 4 years....
Now narrowed down my first dSLR choices down to the Nikon D80 (or 300- longshot), or the Cannon Digital Rebel XSi 450. OR maybe the Pentax K20...... Looking for input about ANY of these.... Learning lenses is like learning algebra so far........................
You got a nice set of photos here ST. Some of them are very creative and offer different views of NYC. I like them alot. I did quite a bit of NYC photography too during the last couple of years, some are posted here on mss.
As to your choice of DSLR I can only recommend the D80. Couldn't be happier with it.
Keep up to good work, will stop by later to see more of your pix.
Before you begin using this site we would like to tell you a little bit about the place.
This site is designed for photography enthusiasts. It is not a place for uploading a million sentimental photos of friends and family. There are other sites that are better suited for that purpose. Please share your best photos, read forums, join groups and by all means ask questions.
If you have any thoughts on photos you see, please comment on them. You are welcome to check out all the photos on this site and leave any comments you like on photos you like or dislike. Be critical and explain why you feel a certain way about a photo. This in itself is a great way to learn and grow as a photographer.
Very importantly, please read all the rules about this site.
We hope you meet new friends among our many photo enthusiastic members and that you have a great time on MSS (MyShutterSpace).
For my part, I do not run this site nor am I associated in any way with MyShutterSpace.com. I am a regular contributor and help out where I can. I post messages in groups, run the contest group and regularly post new photos, blogs and articles. Please check them out and feel free to leave comments, good or bad.
