I have always been interested in the eye behind the camera. Thanks to my wonderful and beautiful girlfriend, I have photography as a hobby and I'm slowly building confidence in my pictures. Being spontaneous allows me to have no problem stopping anywhere or standing anywhere to take a picture. I do not have much of a background on photography, but each day I become a little more knowledgeable of the art, and I am enjoying it along the way.
My Equipment
My first camera (excluding a $150 POS from Circuit City) was a Christmas present from my amazing girlfriend. A Nikon D40 with an 18-55 mm lens will remain one of the greatest gifts I have ever received.

Daniel, thank you for your feedback on my image "Falls".
Yes! it is at the end of the hike. I used a 1/15s shutter and a f/11 apperture stop on manual mode. If you want to have some fun, try a bracket mode and take three images, one at camera suggested exposure using shutter priority of 1/15s and two other images at +2.00 EV and -2.00 EV. Then if you have Photoshop, run it using the atumated HDR utility.
I especially like your "Fantasy" and "Mirror Image" photos. Fantasy really has a cool looking sky, and the saturated colors of the ground really play nicely against it. Mirror Image has very crisp lines and clarity.
hi daniel to brighten the mirror you really need something like photoshop, elements, photoimpact, etc.but i recommend downloading photoscape, picassa ,both are free and very easy to use with good results.
