About Me:: I'm a Strobist, and I tell stories through pictures. Newspapers seem to like that about me. I photograph people; candids, action, portraits you name it. I shoot professionally. I'm very technically inclined, and I like to build my own light modifiers rather than pay for the same thing everyone else has. My Equipment: I shoot with the Canon EOS 1D MK III fully protected with Camera Armor and an LCD Shield. Lenses include the 16-35mm f/2.8L USM, the 50mm f/1.4 USM, and the 70-200mm f/2.8L USM. I have an assortment of speedlites, and other miscellaneous lighting equipment.

I am in the market for a Canon 40D secondary camera.

I am also looking at the Canon G9 as a travel/vacation camera. Those little guys are awesome, I've never seen a "point and shoot" with a hot shoe before!

I carry a ton of 1gb memory cards. I have a fear of having 16 gigs of photos on a single memory card, only to lose everything in the blink of an eye.

I've used Hensel, Profoto, Speedotron, White Lightnings, Alien Bees, and Broncolor lighting systms, both on location and in the studio. These are all very heavy, very expensive lights, yet they output very beautiful light.

My lighting of choice comes in the form of speedlite flashes; they're portable, run on widely available AA batteries, and I won't start crying if I manage to break one. You can buy a dozen of these lights and you can stick them anywhere. There's nothing I can't do when I have a little creativity and a LOT of gaff tape!

I carry my gear in the Lowepro sliplock system, with an assortment of lens cases, extra pouches, etc.
