NIKON D40 with 70-300mm nikkor AF lens.

Hello Stephen, Thank you for the reply. What do you say to buy a 70-300mm non AF-S for my D40? If i go for that can i take good snaps in non auto focus. Can i take picture with fast moving objects?

These photos are ones that I have taken and are in my profile. Also a polarizer brings out contrast for example if you have a blue sky and a white sandy beach, these colours will be very vibrant. Another thing a polarizer is used for is getting rid of glare. This can be used to see your subject behind reflecting glass and if there is reflections on the water, it gets rid of them so you can see fish and other interesting things below the surface. Hope this helped. A polarizer is not something you use every single time you take a picture but if you're looking for really blue skies and clouds with defined edges, it's great to have. If you're thinking about buying one, check online for prices first, I made the mistake of buying one from a shop and it cost almost three times the price.
