Thanks for the update. I still have the 305 photos on my D300 that I downloaded via Bridge, so I think I'll get the free copy of Bibble and see how it goes. I haven't used Windows in years, but I do love PS......Thanks again, I'll let you know how it goes.

OK, or the sceptical ones should try to free her today's trial version of Lightroom downloadable on the Adobe website...

I did try the free lightroom version during the summer, and I decided on Aperture........maybe not the best choice.

My biggest complaint with Aperture, is the complete lack of any artistic controls such as vignetting and presets for a wide variety of creative adjustments. My complaint with LR is their lack of an ergonomic way to compare multiple images...something where Aperture shines.

I think your absolutely correct, and it's one of the reasons I went with Apperture after the one month trail. I was upset when I couldn't transfer my photos from my D300 to Apperture, which had been working fine with other cameras. Once I get the photo in Apperture, if I needed to do more post-processing, which I usually do, I would right click the photo in Apperture and select "open with external editor". I spoke with Apple, and it requires an OS update to make Apperture see the new Nikon RAW format, so it's going to be awhile.........

Well, I'll be dipped. I didn't know about that right click dealie. I'll give that a whirl and open them in Bibble. I finally developed a storage protocol and I've be ad-hoc since Aperture wouldn't service the images. Thanks!

Hi,

I also used a bunch of things up to now, including LR and others. Have you ever tried digikam? I use it now and are very pleased with the support, the speed of development and the features it brings.
digicam.org is the place to get some more info. Uses dcraw for .nef conversion and I guess the D300 support will be available very very soon. A big thank to Gilles Caullier who is the key guy in all the development.
I personally very like digicam and it can be built for MAC OS X easily, too.
Cheers from Japan.
