Nice! Wow, that's close. This is my very first macro image. I caught this bee at work on a flower in my front yard. But this was before I knew anything about shutter speed, so he's blurry.

We caught these little, very colorful, grasshoppers(?) on the way to Madera Canyon. There were so many on the road it was impossible to avoid them.

The tiny but voracious Winter moth. It was resting on the glass storm door allowing me to shoot both sides.

It's about the size of your finger nail.

Shot a few days ago.

I love it! Yeh Macro is awesome - such clarity, I use Macro alot - My photos of the cat that has adopted us were all macro at quite close physical range too. It sure is alot of fun and am into capturing nature - which is somewhat difficult at times as one cant tell an insect/animals or flowers what position you would like them in or to pose and "smile for the camera"! (that old cliche!) and they are also not static eithter! So I say good on ya, nice one!

OK, here is a shot I just got this afternoon. I spoted a Lady Bug in some Pink Heather. Upon closer inspection I noticed that is was captured by a spider.

Francois, Thats awesome - love it. Did you try and release the poor butterfly from the jaws of death? Nice work. I havent dne much photography lately but need to get back into it. You have inspired me. I love Macro shots.

Francois, did you notice the spider before or after shooting this?
Great shot.

I notice the spider after taking about 10 or 12 shots from on top. The lady bug was moving weard and when I moved to the side to take a photo that would show the lady bug legs, I then noticed the spider.

The spider was struggling a lot try to move this lady bug inside the heather bush (to its nest I assume). But it was having problems.

And no, I did not interfere. Remember the "Prime Directive"??

Yes, the "Prime Directive". Let Nature be, that spider worked for it's meal. The ladybug was already doomed.

Great shot, Francois....said the spider to the ladybug!
