A few questions here.

First off, what is the black & white pictures with one focused color called?

And second, how do I do that?

I don't edit much but I do play around with Photoshop CS3 & I can't figure out how to do the black & white with one focused color mainly because I don't know what it's called. I've always been interested in doing those photos, can somebody give me some pointers or is there a place where I can learn to do this? Any help would be great!

I'm wondering, why did you choose that particular girl to color?

One of the most interesting effects I've ever seen was an image of a woman wearing a sweater holding a paint can in one hand and a paint brush in the other, painting across her sweater. The image was black and white in one half and color in the other as if she was painting the color into the image herself. I saw the image on the photoshopuser.com website and I regret I did not tag that in my favorites because I can no longer find it. tsk tsk.

Denny, sorry about that. Unfortunately I do not work in Corel PhotoPaint 12.

Here is a link to the Corel site on a Forum discussing this... hope it helps.

The new(ish) Adobe Photoshop Express facility - https://ww w.photoshop.com/express/index.html - allows users to edit photos online. It includes a colour "pop" edit - which very easily allows you to highlight one colour. It's also a very tidy looking gallery facility. The PS Express facility demonstrates that there are filters/tools that can do this automatically - anybody know of plug-ins or software out there that can do it?

You can also just put your photo to black & white and just color the parts you want to color. Make sure it's a tint color and not a thick color. I use an old... old ...OLD ...adobe photo deluxe 1.0. Believe it or not, it has the BEST tint to do this. You can also do this on black & white photos on paper. Use plain old magic markers to color the parts you want colored, especially the eyes. It is remarkable to see!
