Ok I have no idea what this is but it is driving me crazy!!! I have a nikon d40 and when I take my pics and it shows them to me on my screen all the lighter or white parts on the picture I just took are blinking black and white? on the bottom it says highlight and then the picture number. This silly blinking is driving me crazy any ideas on how to get it off?

Permalink Reply by malowcing on May 19, 2008 at 10:16pm: i got a D40X, but i think the functions basically the same. u can try this. on the multi selector (whit "OK" button in the middle) just press the upper or lower key until your lower screen showing information of your picture file, date and time, and the selected resolution. the informations just looping again and again if u press the upper or lower key repeatly. hope will solve your problem.

Permalink Reply by Cathal Donnelly on May 31, 2008 at 10:52pm: The highlights are showing you the parts of the shot that have been blowen out or have no detail you need to adjust your expousure.In the cursour setup you can take this away by pressing it up ,once will show you a histogram after each shot and twice will show just the picture. i prefere to have on the blinking highlights myself so that i can make adjustments; ▶ Reply to This
