Nice work by all. I just joined this group and would like to share a couple photos I took of my nephew last weekend. He is the most active kid and ALWAYS on the go, but I happened to catch these two shots that show how sweet he can be! Please give me feedback!

Hi Kim, I really like the first shot, it's a very sweet study. It's a pity that the image is a bit soft, but I have the exact same problem.

well done

Hi Kim,

464 - Nice shot ... I like the repeating pattern of green/brown background and your DoF is good ... it does look a touch soft (slightly out of focus) on the child's face ... tough to tell because of the angle and shadows there ... when I look at his hand it looks tack sharp though, so this could be an issue of where you chose to lock the focus. I think what would have made the shot is if he just gave a bit of a glance at the camera.

468 - On this shot you caught the mom (? - making an assumption) in focus and he came out way soft ... I think I would have preferred the reverse ... it would have been great to see him looking at his mom while she asked about his new flower ... also here be aware of everything in the frame (the stroller, it's a bit distracting and causes your eyes to wander to it when you are looking at the image) and not just the subject you are shooting, this way you don't introduce elements into your image that you didn't want there.

I hope you don't think I was being overly critical ... remember it's just MY opinion on these shots ...others may have differing opinions. Good luck and good shooting!

Hi Kim... first photo, nice shot but I am thinking a little soft, out of focus.. the second I think also to focus on the child rather than the 'adult' and a little too much light in parts . I hope you dont mind me saying as I see it, I find any criticism is better than no criticsm at all..

Hi guys.

Ok, this image is a little odd (...very...odd...) but I think it would certainly qualify as a self portrait.
Please don't read too much into it, I had the idea driving home from work and did it inbetween TV shows a couple of nights ago, so it's a little rough.

I would certainly appreciate all feedback, good and bad.
