Thanks, Bob, for the nice comments.  The picture of the altar in Monreale was one of those shots where you have to choose what part of the image do I want to be perfectly leveled.  If the altar is level, the foreground isn't and leveling the midground was a disaster.  The judgement call came down to what I thought was most important - the altar. It could go either way, though.  I do have a tendency to lean right when I shoot.
