Terry, I thank you for your observations. In fact I look forward to comments such as yours as that is how I learn. With this one I metered off of his shirt (believe it or not.) It was when I went into PS and started manipulating this filter and that one where he started blowing out (and getting really dark pants.) As I said I was shooting for the Norman Rockwell look and I think I came up a brush stroke or two away from it. Please, in the future, tell me exactly what you see because I might not notice it. Thank you, my friend.

Hi Terry, its Brighton Pier with waves splashing up the side of the tide breaker next to it, all the people were trying to get a good look at the waves but not get wet, ha ha

Thanks for responding as this is how I learn. Blown out - are you referring to the lightness or darkness (which both are predominate, I know). Any advice or insight is really appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Terry
Thank you for your comment on "cooling off in the tides". Yes, I suppose King Titon would disappove of the tattoo. :) Here in Hawaii those are polynesian tribal tattoos. They have great meaning to people that have them, each symbol has a meaning and the thought process behind the tattoo is beautiful. The "mermaids" tattoo symbolized her love of the ocean and all of the magestic creatures of the ocean. She not only is a mermaid...but a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain and Marine Mammal Naturalist. So, she is a "modern mermaid" LOL
Wow!
I Love your Photos.... They're Full of life/ Energy / Meaning.....
And.... I find your avatar Image of yourself ? Interestingly enticing!
