what to buy?
Hi everybody! I am Dr Pranab, I am a medical and critical care specialist. I love photography. Though I don't have any formal training. My interest is in the field of Macro photography and Night photography. Presently I am going to buy a good digital SLR camera. I have narrow down myself to Nikon D3000 or Cannon 1000D. but I am confused which one I should go for buy. There are some advantages and disadvantages both of them, can any body help me out.

Hello Dr. Saikia, I know it is a big decision. I am a Nikon user so my opinion is biased. Before our cruise a few weeks ago I had the Nikon d3000. It took great photos and I liked it. There were several things that were not convenient to get to. Example, a lot of the camera settings are accessed only through the menu system. Long story short, I returned the d3000 and spent a few hundred more for a Nikon d200. This is more in line with what I'm used to. What ever camera you get make sure it is the one you want. You are more likely to use it and not sit around wishing you had the other. Good luck and let us know which one you get.
