Cabo San Lucas is located at the southern most tip of the Baja Peninsula and the place where my wife and I spend each Christmas. Mostly know for it's deep-sea diving, it is also on the migration route for whales that swim down from Alaska to the Sea of Cortez. It is possible to see whales on a daily basis from the beach or hotel room. I have tried taking reasonably good photos of these whales for the past 5 years, only to get a fleeting look at a nose, back or fin. This year was different as I was finally able to capture a whale breaching next to a cabin cruiser.
