I have often seen blogs asking for advice on what camera to up grade to, but I would like to make a suggestion on what to do with the camera you are up grading from. I think we as photo enthusasists should think of the next generation. I know here in the US the first cuts in school funding is in the arts and many an art teacher would love whatever donations they could get. Think not only cameras but printers or other supplies you might be upgrading. There are also many mentoring organizations like Big Brothers/Big Sisters or boys or girls clubs of America. Many a Boy Scout would like the Photography merit badge but lack the equipement. I'm sure there are many such opportunities around the world. In the US oft times the equipment can be taken off your taxes which might help as much as selling it. I am a firm believer that every child should be given the opportunity to learn some art form; it makes them a more well rounded individual and quite often gives them something they love to do and keeps them out of trouble. There is nothing better than to see a child grow in a talent that they love and learn to express themselves. I gave my camera to my son and now we plan photo trips and it's a great way to get to know him. You might also think about donating some time also, I think you will love it.
