We recently had floods here in Cumbria, UK, nothing toobad, river flooded their banks but no real damage done.
I went the next morning to a river that had flooded, walked on its bank that had been covered in water. No person had been there before me since the flood.
But animals had, little footprints in the wet sand that maybe you would never normally see.I've no idea what they were, naturally I took photos and found it fascinating.
Then I turned and , in amongst the mud and debris of the flood I found new plants, new life pushing through despite what had happened.
Nature does that doesn't she, from bad there often comes good.
Later, looking at this shot, I wished I could do the same.Life has never been easy, isn't easy now, a bad childhood, hard years growing up.But do I let the flood of the past destroy the calm of the future, or can I , like these plants, push through the mud and live?
It made me think, and I'm still thinking.
I sent it to a friend with a little note, she told me she'd had a bad day and that getting my e-mail had really helped.
