Well no one can tell you what to buy but I will tell you a couple of things that I found out through the years. One Nikon equipment is less costly and in some things more advanced than canon. One example is the canon will not trap focus the nikon will. I am a canon person I started with the first Rebel canon offered and once you decide on what brand to buy you will likly be using that for the rest of your shooting career becasue once you start down the road adding lenses and accesorries you really can not turn back, that is unless you win the lottery. If you search the internet you will find alot of reviews on the equipment that you are looking to purchase pay attention to things like high ISO performance, clarity of pics, motion stabilization etc. You really need to get on the net and study the diffrent units so that when you buy you are an informed buyer.
