I had my first fight with Florescent light yesterday. One of the girls at the company I work for wanted me to photograph the first Lunch and Learn that they hosted. I have only shot outside shots and I didn't even realize that until yesterday! I arrived early so that I could take some test shots. I ended up breaking out my flash. I turned it towards the wall so that I would not only keep the harsh light off faces but so that I would not blind anyone! That seemed to work OK, but the ugly yellow that it made the walls was horrible! Luckily I was able to edit that out. My noise was massive and they all seemed to come out blurry after editing. The ONLY ones I liked from it were the fisheye shots.
I think next week I'm going to hit up our training center during my lunch so that I can practice with the florescent light. A friend, who is a professional photographer, told me shoot in cloudy and edit later. Don't obsess over noise and just have fun. I like her advice, but I noticed a CONSIDERABLE difference in my outside shots when I eliminated a lot of the noise! They seemed so much clearer. Below are a few of the pics from yesterday.

That camera has a white balance adjustment, Check your owners manual. You don't need a filter if your correct the setting.
Comment by Linwood Turner on March 21, 2013 at 5:03pm Rebecca, put a florescent filter on your lens that would remove the yellow cast.
