Tricky one Elizabeth. I guess you need to look closely at the job market as if you already hold a degree and see if there is anything going that will enable you to both recoup the expense of the degree course and enable you to meet your living expenses. If you are unable to find anything that will enable you to do both of those things (and you will want to bear in mind that by the time you graduate, there will be a great many other similarly qualified people out there competing for the same work) then I suggest that you stick with your certificate. Sorry that I can't offer anything more optimistic, but if you can land something and start building experience, your reputation and a list of references, they may well stand you in a better position in the long term. I hope someone will step in and contradict me here with a specific path that you can take, but it seems that times are hard all round. I wish you well.
