computer problems stall frustrated photographer

Just a rant because I won't be able to post for awhile. My computer sucked in a virus when my nephew was staying with us in the fall; it hasn't worked well since. My computer virus software quarantined the infection but it has slowly been eating away at the functions of my computer. Some sort of mad computer disease that disassembles the insides of the computer. Since I just lost my mother-in-law, getting a new computer cannot be high on the list of priorities. My next and last course in my Master's program starts in a week and a half so I have to be back on line by then. The way I have to access links on MSS makes using the site less of a peaceful and inspirational getaway and an obstacle too big to fix at this particular time. That's just the way it is.

If you get the chance try a Mac. I gave up with PC's long ago due to virus software ,virus and so on. Mac's don't do bugs plus they are very effective and cool.

thanks for your helpful suggestions. we are getting my mother-in-law's computer set up. Ours predates this century, I think and I'm looking forward to getting some photo editing software and continuing on with my quirky photos. I know I may have to restart my account the way Johnina did when she got a new operating system but I have all the photos that I've posted in my gallery so when I get it set up this weekend I'll be popping out pictures like chiclets. I've learned so much and been inspired by so many wonderful people on MSS. Thanks for hanging with me and checking in on me. I do appreciate your thoughtful comments.

don't let a corrupted pc affect your passion on photography, the images in your sd/cf card won't go stale anyways. just keep spares of these cards which is alot cheaper than buying a new pc. for sure an opportunity to upload your images will come along when you least expect it. worst scenario is to make a reformat of the pc drive after backing up some of your precious files...bake some pies while your at it :) nothing beats perseverance.
