I am standing with my friend Regis Chaigne near land he has cleared in Bordeaux. He is so very proud of if and we are so glad to see him with his new "little baby" parcel that we dragged our shoes through the mud on this November day in 2010 to simply look at it. What lies ahead? Growing up like anything else and seeing how it will play out. While there is already quality in this nearby vineyared we won' know what he has for several more years, what will emerge, no one really knows his plants are in the ground and the vines mature. What measures Regis will have to employ to coax the best from this land remains to be seen. But for now, we can all rejoice that his nearby vineyards will soon be planted and his vines will soon bear its first fruit. Let's see what happens when the first wines are made.
