A Short Trek to Manas Mandir (Temple)
If you are living in Mumbai or nearby location than please spare some time & visit this beautiful place situated at nearly 70 Kms from Mumbai in this monsoon season. Manas Jain Mandir is built on a small Hill just 3 Km away from Asangaon Station.
This is a half day trek & you can easily complete it reach home by afternoon.
Catch any local going to Asangaon or Kasara ( Central Railway) & get down at Asangaon station. From Dadar it will take around 2 hours to reach Asangaon. Best is to get up early and catch train around 7 am. Carry waterbottle & some eatables as there are no hotels around the temple. The trains are available between interval of 30 to 45 min. Refer Railway Time table to check the exact time of the trains.
As soon as train passes Titwala ( Famous for its lord Ganesh Temple) you will notice the scenic beauty of nature. There is greenery all around you & small streams of water flowing everywhere. Alight at Asangaon station & as soon as you get out of the station you will find Risckshaw walas asking you if you would like to go to Mauli fort by rickshaw.
Ignore them & start walking towards the Kalyan Nashik highway. Once you reach highway take a right turn & after walking for few minutes you will see a board indicating the road you have to follow to reach Manas Mandir. From the road you can clearly see the Temple on your right side. The view is truly beautiful and you can also see the beautiful

After walking for around 50 minutes we reach the temple. The very sight of it makes you feel relaxed. There is beautiful small pond at the foot of the temple which is covered by trees & flowering plants. The temple is still being built and so there is construction going around.
There is ample parking space available & also rooms & dharmashala for people to stay ( I think it is only for Jains).
At the base there is a big temple.
The carving work on the marble is extremely beautiful.
Ther Idols in the temple are realy breath taking.
On the left side are the steps which take you to the top to the main temple. On both sides there are beautiful landscape gardens. The steps are slipper beacuse of rain so take care.
There are many small temples which are very beautiful. The main temple realy takes your breath away. On the steps are 2 beautiful ions made of marble.
The temple is realy huge & only Jains are allowed inside. The carving on the cieling of the temple are realy worth appreciating.
It takes normally an hour to see all the places & enjoy the scenic beauty around it. The idols are beautifuly carved & mostly look alive. There is one big black Idol at the back side. The construction of the temple is still going on.
The view from the top is realy beautiful. You can see the small pond & the dharmashala besides it.
After enjoying the view you can start getting back to the Asangaon station. You can also go back from there by bus (ST bus) if you are able to catch one on the way back.
