No Edit Challenge

I was a graphic artist before I got serious about photography. I know photoshop really well and it's almost sad how I can fix almost any mistake made in an initial photograph. I am going to challenge myself occasionally to shoot a picture so well that it needs no post "help". Get it perfect the first time...

Anyone else feel like this?

cheers

Equipment VS Talent

I just got my hands on the Canon 7D, it seems like anyone can shoot today with it's unbelievable assistant features. WOW. So really the only thing left to separate a good photographer from an "ok" one is;

- lighting
- composition
- directing

what else? thoughts on modern equipment and the seemingly over-saturation of photographers now.

Interesting idea that many people already do. I sometimes edit things that don't need editing...sometimes they looked better before the edit. I have to leave it alone if it doesn't need any editing. ;-)

what is the point of that?

one of mi idols in photography said when he was asked if there was to many photographers with good equip that cheap the art of photography. most of them are lazzy not matter how good the equip is or how much talent they have they are lazzy. put pass…

yeah! I agree to you. One of the reasons why I don't use almost any editing apart from cropping and some color management like shadows and highlights.. occasionally turning my pic into a sepia mode or b&w.. I don't call that as an editing as it's re…

I agree 100% with Gailie. I have a book written by Quentin Quartermain entitled; North Norfolk, coast of contrasts. The book contains amazing photographs that come from the 'eye' and not from the equipment. The equipment he used was; Mamiya 6x4, Pen…

I like your thinking, photos should be "Real Photos" not something that has been changed. I agree 100% with you. I view my photos using various programs but I do not change them unless it is to resize for posting or sending to a company, then I will…

I hear that Polaroid shots are in again (even though they stopped making them). People even try to emulate old Polaroid pics or '70s shots by editing them. Some purists like to use film and old cameras. Some cell phones or smartphones take decent ph…

You can do fashion (or any photography for that matter) with any camera. It's not about the camera that makes a good photo. Obviously if you get your photos into magazines, the higher quality comes into play, but for now, here is my advice. 1. Fash…

The best kit you can afford is obviously a requirement...but it's only a stepping-stone. However good your shots are there will always be someone producing better...the world is full of brilliant shots. My advice is to try and make your pics 'look'…
