About Me:
Welcome to my little world!

My name is Alexis, I am twenty years old.

My main language is Spanish, but I prefer English. No one in my family can speak it(nor they are that interested in learning) so I guess they see me as a little weird.

I've been really interested in mechanics, technology and other languages for as long as I can remember.

When I was 8, I loved to watch cartoons and movies in English, even if I had no clue of what they were saying. That language amazed me, so I tried as hard as I could to find out the meaning of everything said. At the end, the urge to know and understand something foreign to me, and something quite unusual where I lived paid off.

Over the last years I have improved my English quite a bit, all thanks to the wonders of this endless online world.

I was born in Puerto Rico, but now I live in Winnipeg, Canada, with my girlfriend.
My Equipment
Currently I use a 5 Megapixel Canon Powershot A530 digital camera.

When I have the money, I shall get a Nikon D300 or Nikon D3.

Welcome to my profile!

As I said before, I was born in Puerto Rico. A little island in the Caribbean. It is boring there. Hot and boring.

In January I moved to Winnipeg with my girlfriend. I really miss the beaches in Puerto Rico.

I am legally blind; I have a degenerative eye condition called Keratoconus, something most people I have met seem not to realize, even when they have talked to me and have seen me for months, or years.

I use special RGP(Rigid Gas Permeable) contact lenses that are painful and annoying(just picture having a hard plastic in your eye for 10 hours a day), but they help greatly, as if I don't wear them I just have 2-3% eyesight. Without them, I cannot read stuff, even if it is two inches away from me.

Anyways, moving on!

Needless to say, I love photography. I also use it as a way to see and *save* things I am not usually able to see as clearly or detailed, and it is a big motivation for me to keep on.

Shadow-of-Desolation

Hello!

Sorry if it takes me a while to answer to comments.

I've just started working and my body is pretty sore. I'm now quite active outdoors so I have less time to be online. I guess that will change when winter comes by with its -40 C temperature, lol.

I guess sometimes I don't feel like answering too(not only here, but other sites I'm in), but it is just that I can't concentrate for too long online. I guess it is just a phase. I'm weird like that, haha.

Hopefully in the next weeks I'll get to an… Continue

Alexis-I admire you for having the desire to learn English-I wish others that come to the US to live would learn English-I'm sure that if I went to live in their country I would have to learn their language. Sorry about your grandmother-I wish you all the best of life-follow you dreams-God Bless

You take outstanding photos!

I guess with your condition, it gives you the ability to appreciate photography more and gives you that extra little ability to capture amazing things.

I hope to see more from you!
