Canon 50mm f/1.2L - worth spending on?

I recently took the plunge and splurged on the bloody expensive and overpriced 50 f/1.2L lens. Prior to that, I have been using the f/1.4 version which I must say it ONE HELL OF AN AWESOME PIECE OF LENS for it's price. However, due to the old and weak mechanism used in the AF system, it has failed me twice and one of it was during a full-day wedding assignment!
