Ranit loves to capture what some could miss. He shoots to take photos that bears his characteristic signature and goodwill. He is a Pictorialist in constant search to satiate his passion.
His attitude makes him always learn from anybody and not only co-professionals. This helps him to widen his perception about photography and honing his skills to the minutest details. Ranit earned his Diploma in Photography at PAD (Photographic Association of Dum Dum, Kolkata, India since 1957; www.padonline.org.in ) and has been a teaching Faculty at his alma-mater, where he is known for his contribution towards the development of photographic art in India. He has participated in many Indian Workshops and International Conferences on Photography.
He started dabbling in photography as a college student and soon this became Ranit’s most passionate hobby. His continuous research , experiments on Pictorial Photography leads him to his teachers Mr. BenuSen ,MFIAP,FRPS http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benu_Sen) the then President of the P.A.D and Prof. Biswatosh Sengupta, MSTAT,MCA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biswatosh_Sengupta), two stalwarts of Indian Photography, to enhance more technical knowledge on this field of Pictorial Photography. Their profound knowledge and guidance helps him to build up the base of confidence in ' How to handle Pictorial Photography'.
Since 1985, his work was appreciated locally and later he went on to gain acceptance and won several awards for his work at various International Salons around the world recognized by F.I.A.P (Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique ), UNESCO, PSA, etc..
