I believe that the previous comments are a true reflection of the photographs and ways in which to improve them.
My main observation would be that both pictures lack "Sharpness", from front to back....even more so in the second picture…

I like the first one a lot. The streaks on the road do a good job of leading me into the picture. The high contrast area on the mountain holds our attention, as I'm guessing was your plan in composing this one.
The second photo is a little trickier…
