My name is Jamie and I'm 17 years old. I've been into photography for as long as I can remember. Even when I was little, I would steal my mom's camera and "waste her film on pointless pictures." I remember when I was about 11 I thought my dad's new huge, ugly, 2 megapixel Sony camera was the coolest thing ever and I soon took over it, filling up all those floppy disks. I got my own little point-and-shoot in 8th grade, but I wanted something better so instead of spending all my money during the week-long 8th grade summer trip across the country, I saved it and bought myself a birthday present when I got home - a Kodak z740 with a few more manual controls I could play with, and I thought that camera was the best thing ever at the time. I stuck with that all through high school, learning more and more about photography all the time, and bought myself a Canon Digital Rebel XSi with my graduation money. Along the way I also started taking many polaroids and pictures with a Lomo Fisheye. On my 15th birthday, my mom dug out her old Nikon F401s for me, but unfortunately I think it's broken for good.
As for now I have fun driving around to take pictures of places in the middle of nowhere, but I really want to travel the world.
It's really embarrassing to look back at pictures that I thought were really good when I first took them in 8th grade, but I'm glad I've learned so much since then. I'm sure the pictures I take now will look awful to me in 4 or 5 years...but I'm looking forward to that!
