About Me:
I love traveling and adventure. As an avid skier, I started traveling around the world starting at 18 and have always taken my camera with me. I started taking photos with a Brownie when I was 7 years old and had my first darkroom at 12. I fell in love with color using a Minolta SLR at 14 and took slides for most of my life until my wife bought me a digital camera in 1999.
I am an international business consultant who continues to travel around the world with my wife. I am self-taught and started successfully exhibiting and selling my work a few years ago.

Whales: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Cabo San Lucas is located at the southern most tip of the Baja Peninsula and the place where my wife and I spend each Christmas. Mostly know for it's deep-sea diving, it is also on the migration route for whales that swim down from Alaska to the Sea of Cortez. It is possible to see whales on a daily basis from the beach or hotel room. I have tried taking reasonably good photos of these whales for the past 5 years, only to get a fleeting look at a nose, back or fin. This year was different as I w… Continue

thanks so much for the warm welcome, Harvey. I just got my camera this summer...I had been just really starting to learn a few years back when I had a camera that was a lemon then I had some health challenges so I sort of gave it up for a while there. It feels so good to be back at it! This is a great community and I am really looking forward to being active here.

Thanks mate, your image gave me insparation to do a 3d model of this in 3ds max, I have seen a few tutorials on interior lighting in 3ds max that I want to try aswell, I did an internal cathedral model before but it was far too detailed for the lighting setup needed to light it, all in all I had to setup at least 35 lights, to render out just a draft test image it took 5 hours, a full production render would have been days.

This room is perfect ( as long as I don't go too over the top though with the details which I normally do ) :-)
