Photography is a way of being seen. As a people we want to be seen and heard. It is not always the exotic nor the rare occurances that provide the greatest voice. It is those things; and people near to us and dear to us. It is that evoke the greatest turmoil or pleasure. I believe it was Robert Frost who said that great poetry comes as the result of a love sickness or home sickness. Great photography comes when the heart is gripped by the expression of the lens.

Thanx Bruce for checking my picture. I see you are part of the Gander gang. Do you see Scotty often (love his stuff). You got many great shots on the server yourself! Cheers
Thanks for the critique Bruce:
The horizon definitely needs adjustment - for some reason I always look into the photo and most of the time overlook the horizon adjustment that you mentioned. That’s part of my learning curve and exactly why I joined this group - to gain tips on improving my techniques. As for the washed out background, I have struggled with getting this composition right – adjust the background the foreground get washed out – and once I make a correction the image loses its original focus which I feel is the rocks and the clear water. But will play around with it and repost it soon. Thanks again for the critique and look forward to your input.
I read your post on stolen photos. It happens all the time on flickr and Im sure other sites as well. Even with watermarked photos, they can still take the photos and claim it as their (the photo theives) own. It's a shame that people have to resort to such extremes, but I guess it happens all the time.
