Nice shot Pramio. I like the lead. I have to admit HDR works very well in monochrome too, there are many in my gallery :) The thing is never to overdo it and have a plastic looking oversaturated photo.. Here is one of my best ones.
Nice capture and compo!
Beautiful colors :)
Photoshop is not wrong, every photographer uses a darkroom (or a digital darkroom) to enhance photos. But by reading your description (turning yourself to a lion??), it's not a photo anymore, it's a photomanipulation, or digital art. That's prob...
I'd say, get Adobe Lightroom 2. Excellent to manage your collection of photos and very nice for retouching your photos. Most of my B7W photos in my gallery are done through Lightroom so you can see how well it is ;) If you need just the most basi...
Yes most cameras either take only in jpeg (as in most compacts, it's a small file, well compressed) or jpeg and RAW (as in most SLRs) because RAW is just a file that conserves all the details and information intact. If you are interested in worki...

About Me:
I am a self taught amateur with an amazing passion for photography. I will be jumping into the professional world at the end of this year to follow my dreams.

I started only in November 2007 and am spending my free time studying/reading/practicing photography..

For me, photography is not just catching a glimpse of reality, a copy/paste of what is seen... It's more about telling a story through an image, like a painter in front of his canvas, except that photographers paint with the Light :)

Your feedback is very important to me as it helps me learn from my mistakes and improve myself ;)

Some news..

I know I haven't been participating much for the past few months. Sorry for that :)

Work and relationship issues dragged me down and made me lose my motivation for photography for some time. I have touched my Camera only once since January so..

But I am regaining my motivation lately and hopefully, new shots will follow up soon!

I am also preparing my next trip on 1st of May: I will be doing the "Santiago de Compostella" pilgrimage/path in Spain for a month (800km path). It will be a life cha… Continue

My new personal blog!

So I was about time!
Since the beginning of summer, I wanted to open up a blog and share my ideas with everyone. Then I thought about a photoblog, to post my work and "explain" them. I wanted something more personal.

Don't know what took me so long but .. finally..... I made it!

I have opened a photoblog where I will be posting all my work regularly while giving you a glimpse of what, why and how it happened in my little head. I think it's very interesting to know the story behind each photo,… Continue

Back from holidays!

Well... I'm back!!

Sorry for the long absence, I took myself a month long holiday in 2 of the most beautiful countries in the World, two magical places: Ireland and Iceland!

I cannot express the feeling I felt during this trip.. Ireland was amazing, beautiful, so green. People are lovely, funny, it was really a great experience. I did all the west coast from Killarney to Sligo, attended the Puck Fair, trespassed lands to see the Moher cliffs, took a dive in the Ocean, went to Dingle, played mu… Continue

About the importance of titles..

A lot of people say that a good photo is all about great composition, lighting, perfect exposure and all the technical stuff..

In my opinion, all these are very important and would represent 2/3rds of an excellent photo.. The other 1/3rd???

The Title!

I think the title plays an extremely important part. It is usually what conveys the emotion, the story, the meaning when they are not really explicit in a photo. They guide the viewer and help him visualize what you are trying to show.

I too of… Continue
