I am a former full time professional photographer who sold his studio years ago. On a side note I am also a Marathoner & Cyclist so you may see photos on my site from time to time that I have taken during an actual Marathon because even then I have a camera with me, NO, not my big nikon but small digitals !
Well about six months ago there was a change to my former status. After being inundated with requests for me to return to my past as a working photographer and my wife losing her job, I decided to dust off the old shingle and hang it back up. I started taking casual environmental portraits of kids, teens and families and what a difference the digital world has given us to work with. We started Chuck Williams Photography and I taught my wife how to shoot and we shoot as a team. My 21 year old son has now joined the business as a third photographer on the team and my 17 year old daughter will be doing sales and data entry for us. We are now on facebook, we Tweet, we have a blog and we are gearing up for a busy season. Visit our website at www.chuckwilliams-photography.com and look around.

I started out using a Nikon F ?? years ago, so that shows you I have been around photography for awhile. I progressed to Large Format for Portrait Studio,Wedding's and Commercial work. I sold it all several years ago and walked away after getting burned out doing too many Wedding's. That's right, "too many+ Weddings and it wasn't fun any more. I still have a Nikon 8008 with a 35-70 that I bought as my first auto focus film camera when my son was born. I entered the serious digital world cautiously with a Nikon D-50 and I moved up to the D-80. We now have two D-80's, my sons D-40 and we use an assortment of lenses. I feel that less is better. As the kids today say " DIGITAL RULES" !!
Chuck, I'm adding that this has been a very quite season and thankfully so. Winters are usually mild although I have seen some crazy Ice storms which would have been great to photo material......if I had been into it back then....I think we are due for some storms like that.
Wow, Hurricane Ike was pretty scary. I had never experienced anything like it except Hurricane Isabel when I was in Richmond, Va in 2003. I would love to see the pictures you have of Ike. I did have damage that had to be repaired but lucky compared to most. The aftermath was worse than the Hurricane.....Pictures of that would be interesting as most I saw on the News.
Thank you Chuck for you nice comments about my pictures. They are pretty simple and close to home. It is hard to get out and about but I love taking pictures and hopefully more opportunities will come up for getting many for shots.
