Time for reflections – I joined this Shutter community in Spring 2009 and do consider it a rewarding experience.
Not only watching attempts and progress of fellow members but also studying, in hindsight, my own work while contemplating the choices I made and why. Sort of self-therapy to evaluate one’s own published collection.
An unanswered question is still there: what makes a photo engaging, spellbinding, inspiring?
Exotic locations?
Common scenery but told with touches of mystique?
Or photos with the utmost technical skill, perfectionism, refinement?
I shall continue to look for he answers while remaining with this community.
Thank you for your lovely comment! Please feel free to comment also on which pics you don't like and why - This is the only way I can get better. I love your gallery - some of the photos are absolutely stunning; both in colour and composition!
Dear friend Bjorn, I really have to thank you for the accept. And for your comment, on my ancient theatre's shot. And I have to say, that you focused right on the subject. You see, this theatre is a state of art, for its brilliant acoustic. If you stand on the centre and drop a coin, every single spactator is gonna hear it. Even the ones of the far top seats !...
Dear Francesca – thank you for your friendship. You 29, I staggering above 82 and commiserate your frustration about a breakthrough as professional photographer in Italy. But have no, sorry, practical advice. For my money, your pictures appears a bit too dark on my screen. Don’t’ lose hope, please.
Thank you, Björn, for your comments on "Windows Reflections - December 2009". I appreciate your compliments very much - That photo was shot on 35 mm film, film scanned, and all post process by digital darkroom.
