Florida is where I live. It is a beautiful place, the ocean, the jungles, and the wildlife all make for a photographer's paradise.

But Florida is also famous for its sudden and unexpected storms. In its…

A New Artistic Project

Juan Ponce de Leon His New and Revised Genealogy the Book Posted on Aug 31st, 2009 by ayesart The reason for my abscence from these pages has not arisen from creating a plastic work of art or seeking out to discover beautiful nature subjects for my photography but from a different kind of artistic realization.

I have been very busy working upon an important new project. A book!

The photos above are of my grand mother, Juana de la Paz Maldonado y Ortiz the original was taken when she was a very young adult. The photo was taken in the early 1900's. The photograph was taken in down town Salinas, Puerto Rico or in Ponce, Puerto Rico. The photographer must have been mid range because he didn't water mark his work. The image records the… Continue

Capturing Fast Moving Subjects

Posted on September 7, 2008 at 9:57am 0 Comments

I've spent a lot of time taking and retaking shots of butterflys. If you have tried to capture them with your camera you already know how hard it is because of their constant flittering about from flower to flower.

The solution is quite simple...

Set your camera on its specific SPORTS setting and then click away. After the shoot you can delete the shots you aren't satisfied… Continue

Things That Motivates A Visually Impaired Photographer

Being visually impaired is a trip,

especially if the fields you have chosen to pursue are photography and fine arts painting.

When I write a Blog my computer screen fonts have been adjusted so I can read the text and view the images therein.

When I take a photo I am looking through a special magnification ditty that I have flitched off of an old Game Boy handheld.…

The Art of Seeing.

All Images and Text Copyright 2007, John Ayes

An artist is a person who has worked hard upon changing several aspects within their way of perceiving the world. They have trained their perceptive abilities to observe objects differently from a person who hasn't to the point of an obsessive preoccupation.

Everywhere and artist looks they see a potential for art. A heightened eye sense awareness of what's going on around them is honed to a focal point sharpness so that the…

Posted on October 19, 2007 at 10:40am 2 Comments

If you can't have fun while doing what you like best. Give it up and find something you do like.

A lot of photographers have been thinking of getting into the fine art of macro…

To Watermark Or Not To Watermark....

Posted on October 18, 2007 at 2:48pm 3 Comments

Its up to the person to watermark or copyright notice their work. If they choose not to watermark or copy protect their work and someone infringes on it, then the person who infringed can claim what is called, "accidental infringement".

Where does that leave the person whose work has been…
