HI everyone. I think I like nature scenes the best. Beach shots at dusk are pretty spectacular. But then so are shots of majestic trees with beautiful, lush ferns around their base too. Then again, flowers are beautiful.....
I've been shooting digital for about 6 years or so now and its fantastic. I teach digital photography enthusiasts and beginners. I think photography should be explained simply and in laymen's terminology so every one can have access to learning about taking beautiful photos. You can come visit me anytime to get some tips or just to say hi at www.digitalphotographysecrets.com.
Thanks Amy. I rarely use film now but I went through all of my prints and scanned them into my computer so I would have a digital image of them. When I find some that have potential I will work with them in my photo editing software to see what I can do with them.
You left a question on how I got the Fall on The James River to look like it did. Well, first it was scanned in from film. It helped that it was a beautiful day. All I did in PSP was to tweak the shot some with the contrast and brightness and remove a few bad areas. Otherwise it was as it came off the original print.
Hi Amy,
Settings I use to shoot lightning are: Full manual mode. BULB & f5.6 - f11. Camera mounted on a tripod with cable release, generally stick to ISO 100. Canon Lens 17-55mm f1.8. Take lots of photos. I took some 40 shots to get this one so be patient.
Cheers
