About Me:
"My emphasis is on feeling, self expression, and growth. The artist is succesful only if he or she can use the tools at hand to express feelings. As a photographer, I try to become the subject of my camera. I "am" a shell, a doll, a leaf. I become the ideal woman my photograph of a female nude represents. I seek harmony." ~Ruth Bernhard

"Quit trying to find beautiful objects to photograph. Find the ordinary objects so you can transform it by photographing it." ~Morley Baer

"There are only two mantras" said Bernard. "Yum and yuk. Mine is yum."

Death Valley

Looking forward to heading to Death Valley in the Sierra Nevada next week for some camping, hiking, and photography. Spring is an ideal time of year to go there since the weather will be warm (but not hot like summer), with beautiful desert wildflowers blooming.

Kilimanjaro

MY BLOG

2/04/09

Miracles do happen....I DID IT! I made it to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa this last week. Thank goodness I did not suffer from symptoms of altitude sickness like most others do at 19,000 feet and the experience was one I will never forget. Summit evening/day was an incredible challenge to say the least....six hours of walking straight up a very steep incline with little oxygen in below freezing conditions from 12 midnight to 6 am. However, the trek itself and reachin… Continue

Your shots have always inspired me to improve. Your photography taught me that B&W is MORE IMPORTANT than colour and this has helped me in getting contrast and brightness right in my photography and your portraits have taught me to transfer my portraits and people work to B&W - thank you for that.

Hi Alison, thank you for the friend invite! I am honored and I look forward to learning from your talents! I am an aspiring photographer. I have decent equipment, a decent ability to capture God's beauty, a love to see creation and find the beauty in it and the desire to go higher and higher. I have started 2 discussions if you wouldn't mind looking at and adding whatever you can to contribute to them! Thank you so much, Jenny
