Comment by Mark Duncan on January 29, 2013 at 2:07am Thanks a lot Carol. This image really doesn't do it justice - the summit is nearly 2½ vertical miles above the village, and the village is already 3 miles above sea level!
wow, that looks so "mighty"the beauty and wonder of nature a wonderful view and shot Mark
Comment by Mark Duncan on January 27, 2013 at 9:34pm Thanks Wayne. No I took this while accimatizing for an attempt on Ama Dablam (just out of the shot to the right). I got a lung infection on that one and had to turn around at about 20,000ft. The climbing permit fees for 8000ers from the Nepal side are astronomical, so I don't know that I'll complete the Seven Summits now, but six out of seven's not bad I suppose. It certainly has been an adventure.
