how did I miss this one? very dramatic and striking! seems like a little bit of work and effort to create this effect so extra kudos for that.

Henry, I didn't find the "bright" spot distracting, it fits well with the overall lighting of the lower edge which therefore stands out sharpely against the background. It's not large enough to distract, it's simply part of the brighter lit edge.
