This is the place to showcase your best insect macros!
Since many of are passionate about taking macros of all kinds of tiny creatures (bugs, lizards, dragonflies, butterflies, flies, bees, wasps, crickets, leafhoppers, mantis, etc.) and we can only upload 3 pics per day on the main page, I thought we could add some of our favorite macros on here. Add a description of what it is (if you aren't sure, you can post it on www.bugguide.net for an ID and they are very good at identifying the name and gender. I'm learning how many different kinds of flies there are!
I would like to divide them up by categories such as butterflies, dragonflies (including damselflies), spiders, flies (all kinds), ants and crawling bugs, mantis and grasshoppers (including katydid and leafhoppers), lizards, etc. If you have any ideas for another category you can start a discussion thread.
If you want to add a description of the critter and the scientific or common name, please do. Also tell us where you found it (the geographical location and any other info).
You can comment (nice comments or suggestions only) on other peoples' macros.
Any questions? Email me with them. Go find some critters! :D
WHEN YOU UPLOAD THE PHOTOS, PLEASE USE THE PHOTO ICON AND THEN CLICK ON "OPTIONS" AND THEN CHECK OFF THE SECOND AND THIRD BOXES (CREATE THUMBNAIL & POP-UP WINDOW) AND THEN CLICK ON ADD.
THAT WILL SAVE SPACE AND YOU CAN SEE THE IMAGE FULLSIZE BY CLICKING ON IT!
