Thanks Sam, for giving me the opportunity to host this Daily Challenge! For this challenge I would like to see anything that floats. It can be leafs, trees, boats, ice, rafts, etc.

Surprise me!

As always: Just 1 entry and as many NE's as you can find...!

Very nice PoV and colors, Priya!

Hi, I've made a slight crop and tweaked the colours and I feel it has improved the shot, so please consider this my entry. It would be good to hear your thoughts on this from the current image to the first one uploaded to the challenge.

Entry: HMS Belfast:

"HMS Belfast" is a popular tourist attraction on the RIver Thames, London. Visitors enter via the walkway, which collapsed back in 2011. As you can see, the walkway is collapsed into the water. Fortunately no one was hurt when the walkway fell into the water. You can read the news story here. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-15944260

This image was taken at nighttime with a 30 second exposure - hence the smooth texture to the water.

Hey Kamran

I like your edit, you got rid of unnecessary and uninteresting foreground which brings the subject right into view. The whole thing is tighter; with doing that right hand crop you took out some distracting features, but left in enough to give it context and a sense of space. My only reservation is that you may have overdone the vibrance/ saturation a tad (?) Good detail and sharpness on the ship (masts etc) considering all things. Nice work!!

Colin

Hi Colin,

Thanks for the comments. I'm glad you agree that the cropped version is neater. (I actually tried cropping even tighter with just the ship and walkway: the image felt too busy so I kept it wide)

And you are correct, I increased the saturation and  also the sharpness - hence it helps bring out the details in the ship as you duly noted.

Thanks for taking the time to comment!

Sorry, Colin. An empty post....

NE: Fishing boat...

My Entry: The fun boat ride...

Lovely capture, Lolit!

THIS CHALLENGE IS NOW CLOSED! GIVE ME SOME TIME TO LOOK AT THE ENTRIES EN I'LL BE BACK WITH THE WINNERS SOON.
