Information

48 Hour Edit/Manipulation

You are joining a group for photo editing and manipulation. The main purpose of this group is to help the members to better understand the editing tools they have. Creative editing/manipulation is welcome and encouraged as a way to better understand your software. Ask questions, learn, grow and have fun.

This is how a 48 Hour Edit Challenge Works: .

Go to "Discussion Forum" to see what the Image to edit is for the next 48hrs.

Click on the offered image to open it into a new window. Download the image that has been posted for you to edit for the current challenge. Edit the image any way you see fit for the subject and your own style.

Click on the most current Challenge... ( make sure you are on the right date) and enter your 1 entry .

Uploading your entry:

You will see the "reply" box. Write in the box the title of your entry, or your comment...then on the top of the reply box you will see the small icon that looks like a small image, click on that and it allows you to upload a photo. DO NOT USE THE "UPLOAD FILES" on the bottom of the reply box. Your photo will not show up properly.

Winners:
When you are chosen as the winner of a challenge then it is your job to pick and post one of YOUR photos as the next photo to be edited and then to follow up by posting the winners of the challenge. If you win, you have 24hrs to start a new topic, if you don’t, then the second place winner will be asked to start the new challenge... **If you cannot host the next challenge please do not enter, only post NE images.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR STARTING A NEW CHALLENGE

1. Go to the "Discussion Forum" area below, on the bottom left you will see... +start discussion. Click on + start discussion.
It will ask you for your new title.
PUT THE DATE OF THE NEW TOPIC IN YOUR CHALLENGE TITLE....

3. Post your sample photo by looking on the top of the "post" box. You will see a small photo (it is the 13th icon on the right side) when you scroll over it, it will say "insert image" THAT is where you upload your examples. Make it a large enough file for the artists to work with (ie: 300dpi 3000x4000 pixels).
DO NOT USE THE "ATTACH FILES" on the bottom of the page... your photos will not show up on the page.

4. When the challenge is over and you've picked the top 3 winners, create a new discussion again (+Add a discussion) and post the winning photographs and your comments there.

Members:
You may enter TWO photo's to be judged for each new challenge.

Please label these ENTRY 1 & ENTRY 2.

You must use the posted photos and follow any editing restrictions placed on the challenge.

You may also enter as many Non Entry (NE) as you would like, an NE cannot win.

If you enter a challenge ..YOU MUST CHECK BACK TO SEE THE WINNERS!!!! (in case you ARE the winner) and the NEW 48 Hour Edit TO START WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE LAST ONE.

IF the WINNER DOES NOT ENTER A NEW Edit the following day ..( within 24hrs of the win ) then the Challenge we will go to the 2nd place, or 3rd down the list to get it going again.

Now Lets Have Some Fun and... There are no perfect edits, only unique edits.

Sad that you feel the need to leave the group, I know I myself have been absent for the last couple of months mainly due to arthritis problems ( that thankfully appear to be receding). I hope that you will decide after a short break that you can return to the fold as I fully intend to do in the next coupleof weeks.

I decide to live group because of poor interest and some other things what bothers me. Group without a leader can`t survive or make any progress.

lol, I get that too Jan. During my busy times when I cant join in the fun I still seem to do the edit in my mind and try to check in on what is going on. Today I leave my home at 5am and wont be back until about 9-10 tonight. Some times it feels like I am pulled in to many directions but in the end I always find it was worth the efforts I had to put in. Enjoy your vacation (holiday).  I've never understood that.... So when you do have an actual holiday like New Years or Christmas... do you call THAT being on vacation or is it also a holiday? .. I'm soooo confused!  ;-)
