When we take a photograph we are capturing a moment in time. Each individual viewer will interpret the shot in a different way and some pictures will open the imagination in ways only an image can. The idea of this group is for members to post those images which tell a story and for others to leave comments describing their own interpretaion of them.
This does not mean that an image must be categorised as photo journalism but it should have the ability to open the imagination of those who view it.
Each month will see the addition of a new theme and those posting images are asked not to describe the intention of the picture (if indeed there is one) so as not to influence the comments left by others.
I look forward to seeing the images and reading the interpretations, as well as adding my own!
AS FROM JULY, YOU MUST DESCRIBE YOUR INTERPRETATION OF AT LEAST ONE IMAGE ALREADY IN THE THREAD BEFORE POSTING YOUR OWN PHOTO. THIS IS TO HELP BRING THE GROUP BACK INTO LINE WITH IT'S TRUE INTENTION WHICH IS TO DESCRIBE WHAT AN IMAGE MEANS TO YOU.
ANY IMAGES POSTED WITHOUT A MEANINGFUL INTERPRETATION OF THE IMPACT OF AM IMAGE ALREADY THERE, WILL BE DELETED.
SORRY FOR BEING SO HARSH BUT OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS THE THOUGHT GOING INTO THE COMMENTS LEFT HAS DETERIORATED - I AM GUILTY OF THIS TOO!
1000 WORDS POLICE!
