Life’s as good as it gets, when you play in a band.
Like when you’re a kid and you played in the sand.
It’s rough and it’s gentle, it’s cruel and it’s kind.
It messes your head up, then eases your mind.
It’s bluer than cold and it’s redder than heat.
It slows down your heart rate, then quickens your feet.
It’s as calm as a mill pond, it boils like the sea,
Hates everybody except you and me.
The chords are like crystal, the riffs are like steel.
The drums are like thunder, how good does it feel?
The music surrounds you, it’s got you caged in.
You cant get away coz it’s under your skin.
You know that your destined to be one of those.
Who swagger like pirates, and wear the right clothes
It’s brighter than sunshine, it’s better than sex.
It’s almost as sinful as bonking your ex!
It’s sleazy, it’s steamy, it’s dreamy and hot.
I aint so addicted, just give me a shot.
It’s odd and it’s even, so strange yet familiar.
It’ll keep you alive and then it’ll kill ya.
It rocks and it rolls, it rattles and hums.
From princes to paupers, barons and bums.
So when life is over and your ready to rest,
Those days in the band, were better than best.
