I picked this up from Twitter a few days ago and the link has been down until today.
Visit http://www.adobe.com/downloads/cs2_downloads/index.html and check it out. I registered with Adobe and downloaded Photoshop CS2 and a bunch of other things this morning. I don't think there's any support or updates being offered, but if you are working off a zero budget, this is a great package.

Permalink Reply by Lolit C on January 11, 2013 at 3:05am thanks for sharing... really great act for Adobe... but I tried downloading PS Elements... and when I have already installed the setup... I found out the system requirement shld be 64-bit system, mine is a 32-bit, so I declined the installation. I'm not sure if this holds true for the other softwares. Thanks anyway :)
Permalink Reply by Mark Duncan on January 11, 2013 at 3:15am Sorry to hear that, Lolit. Must be very frustrating. I'm running a 64-bit system so had no trouble with any of it.
Yes, it was a generous act by Adobe. Giving it away like this is a smart way to both reduce the market share of the counterfeiters and build goodwill with thousands of potential customers.
Permalink Reply by Brad Whistler on January 14, 2013 at 9:38am There are other software companies that do this. Microsoft was one of the first. They take the older Microsoft Office Suite and rename it Microsoft Works to be bundled for free with new machines. It sounds great but you quickly realize it is the older version for a reason. It isnt forward compatible, it isnt as user friendly in most cases and has a fraction of the features. They are giving away CS2 to make sure you want CS6. AND I DID and I GOT IT! ;-) After using CS6 and the vast improvements over CS5, I cant imagine working with CS2. Just like I uninstall Microsoft Works as soon as I get a new computer.
It is free and it is Photoshop, but it is nowhere near the Photoshop of CS6. Be prepared, your free version of CS2 is getting you primed to invest in CS6 like a new addict on crack, you just have to have it. lol
