Permalink Reply by Sarah Ashley on September 14, 2012 at 6:20am Nice job at bringing back the sky but I don't like the loss in detail of the cape or the leaves.
Permalink Reply by Brad Whistler on September 21, 2012 at 10:29am As I was editing I kept removing more and more of the details in the foreground leaves. I felt they were competing with Tara for attention and Tara doesn't like to share the spotlight. Not even with leaves! lol I also felt that her outfit was better suited to a darker feel in the image. She is in a black cape rather than a white one so the darker feel just made sense to me. I do like both versions but the biggest before and after I posted this for is the smoothing of her skin and removal of the baby memories.
Permalink Reply by Bert Corliss on September 13, 2012 at 12:18pm The biggest before and after I’ve had I’m not going to post. I had a young woman that use to work for me bring me over 400 photos from her son’s wedding. She had another friend take the wedding photos for her. They were done with a small point and shoot camera. The wedding was in a hall with several types of lighting and the camera was set to a outdoor sun light setting. The girl that shot them didn't know what white balance was. All 400 photos had to have the color balance reset and the exposure adjusted. It took me almost 20 hours of work.
The moral of this story is always check your white balance before and during your shoots.
You just have to love Photoshot and RAW.
Permalink Reply by Sarah Ashley on September 14, 2012 at 6:25am Wow well hopefully they didn't pay too much for it. If they paid very little or nothing at all then well they got what they paid for. Hopefully her friend will take some classes or even work for someone before taking on another wedding.
Permalink Reply by May Tove Stensrud-Svendsen on September 14, 2012 at 9:22am Hello, and congratulation. Like the color effect and the blur...and the lightening in the photo.
About some details.
Seems to me that you have used the same amount on blur, where you have used it. In the parts on the man, I would have used less blur, the arm, and the hair, and if you look at the edges (because of highlights)....maybe between 50-80% instead. It is well done on the woman.
And the color-effect does not be good under the arm of the woman...looks dirty...
Working in layers, it is quite easy to manage that with lightening or by using some % eraser...
Have fun
Hope you like my advice
