Has anything replaced or come close to the Fuji f30 in regards to shooting quality at night without flash and without substantial noise?

Im am looking for a compact that will give me the best quality for the following situations:
photographing at night without flash
" ornate fixtures, lamps, etc that are lit at night without additional lighting
" neon signs
" fireworks (not so frequently)
" concerts
" at the beach

I know this is a tall order for a compact but would love some favorites and why... what are the best compacts these days for both day and night shooting?

Curious about the Panasonic Lumix DMC -LX3...

I have looked at Canon's Powershot and it seems that the 790 might be better than the 990 because of noise... am I correct? Is there another Canon in the compact family that you would suggest?

I was very interested in the Sigma DP1 & DP2 because of their larger sensor until I realized it doesn't have image stabalization and this got me a bit worried about blur.

How about the smaller Leica's?

Thank you

Do a favor and look at Canon G9 or G10 and you will be very happy, no regret, i don't have it but i wish to have it [in fact i shouldn't buy one because i have 7 DSLRs so far].

Hi Tareq

Thank you for your suggestion... I actually purchased it, then cancelled the order because I felt the G10 was going to be to big & bulky... but I keep going back and forth. Nothing else offers what it offers. Fuji is coming out with a smaller compact in the spring that is supposed to be better than their beloved f30/31.
Size and low light ability is very important for me.

hi to me you wont find a better camera than the f30 or f31.i myself use the f31and the lack of noise is as good as some dslr.fuji lead the field in this kind of technology in p+s cameras.they might have a new camera coming out soon.

What about fujifilm s9600 or s100fs? I'll rather buy one of these then g9 or g10. Notice that you have focus ring on lens. if I don't have enough money till spring for dslr I'll bay one of these cameras for sure.
Sony, does it have evf. Panasonic, I think it's to noise in higher iso. Go see some example shots at http://www.dpreview.com/gallery/

i purchased a fuji f30 on ebay... i hope i love it...
I was reading that Fuji is coming out with an impressive P&S in the Spring...
In the meantime, I have to learn all the technical stuff with my new Nikon D300 so I can start putting some fun stuff up.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Hi Spook
Thank you. I ended up buying the Fuji f30 for its low-light capabilities. I was sooooo close to getting the G10 and still might... but for now Im pleased with the little fuji. I will definitely check out the Luminous site...
Happy Thanksgiving
Brigitte
